LIGHTBULBS

You’re going to need new bulbs. Long-lasting LEDs make it easy to forget when dead bulbs were a more common annoyance. But sooner or later, whether they’re HIDs or halogens, restoration incandescents or even LEDs, their service life will come to an end.

Here at CNH Industrial, we stock a complete range of bulbs for every application — all of them designed or approved by our engineers for your equipment. Get premium bulbs from CNH Industrial.

Proper Handling

You’ve heard the warning: Don’t touch a light bulb with your bare hands. Why? And is that true of all bulbs or just certain kinds?

Bulbs that burn at high temperatures are vulnerable to the oils on your skin. Touching them with your bare hands transfers oil from your skin to the bulb’s surface. If you’re not careful to clean the bulb before using it, the oil will remain on the surface and absorb heat when the light is on. The resulting hot spots can crack the bulb.

So which bulbs do you need to avoid touching? Of the kinds you’re likely to encounter on farm and construction equipment, halogens and HIDs run the hottest. They’re best handled with gloves. If you do touch them, simply wipe them with a clean cloth or towel and a little rubbing alcohol.

Change Bulbs Together

Many lights on vehicles come in sets. When you need to replace a bulb in one of them — say, a headlight — consider replacing the others, especially when the lights are hard to service. That’s because bulbs of the same type have roughly the same service lives. Changing them all now saves you the downtime of changing them one-by-one in the near future. It also ensures that your lights remain color matched.

Good lighting is important for safety, so don’t wait until you need new bulbs before you shop around. Stock up now at CNH Industrial.
